I know sombody said this before but its very true. BUT you've gotta think about it the only promotion that trys to keep their guys to themselves is EXW who also has contracts. Every other promotion needs the guys an the extra hands.

Most (not all) of the EXW guys had wrestled for IZW, RPW, etc....as well as a slew of 1 off promotions. I've said for a while now that if you wanna start a new promotion in AZ, you can have a few of the regulars, but pull in someone fresh from the North Eastern US to mix it up a little.
RPW was cool because it would regularly pull people from Aussie promotions for their shows. They brought in a lot of wrestlers who we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Also they were the company who brought in The East Coast Killa, Dean Radford, who later moved to IZW after the merger.

They also brought in guys from CA like The Young Bucks, Scorpio Sky, Scott Lost, Brandon Gatson, and more.

It would be hard but not impossible. I just threw it out as a suggestion as something different. Dean Radford's recent appearance at EXW was because he was on a tour of a bunch of Wrestling companies on the west coast. EXW also now charges that 7 bucks at the door so they can give a little something to the out out of town or big name wrestlers for their service. Also they allow their talent to sell shirts/merch at the show. Dean sold his shirts. This is a good way for the talent to make extra cash without having to promotion fork over more money out of pocket.
Concert promoters do it all the time with a limited budget. Are you telling me that Wrestling promoters can't figure out how to do the same? I know there are costs, I used to promote concerts myself, and this was in Kingman. A little podunk town that barely gets turnouts, yet I still managed to bring in good traveling acts, paid em, and still made the bar happy.
What it all really comes down to is connections, and to make those you just talk to people. Things fall together and you just take good opportunities when you can.

I think that RDPW is doing a good job of using guys from other promotions and mixing them in with guys from other promotions as well.
RDPW is rebuilding slowing right now. You got to remember, they dont have the massive talent like Gallo, Ryan, Freak Squad and all those older guys now, they have a new crop of guys, fresh of the mats, and in some cases, still in the ring training three nights a week.
But yeah, they still use guys from AA Lucha and HIW and Pirana, but I think that each company here in Arizona, recently anyway, has done a good job at keeping a few guys only on one show. Sure some of that has to do with hostility between promotions, but its still good all the same. Plus, they seem to do different things with them, so you dont see the same thing in every promotion.
Shanks - as good of a time as you had in RDPW, they had a better time having you there! I can say honestly that I had three guys come back and call match of the night.

RDPW has tried to bring in some guys from UT and Vegas as well, different guys from the EXW guys.
White Trash Johnny Logan, Damien Graves, Solo, El Pinche Loco, Adan Reyes...
and they are planning on bringing in Black Magik Shaka, The Nigerian Nightmares and The WILD Womens league as well. 2011 will have lots of fresh faces.
