July 25th, 2010...that’s the last time Elite Xtreme Wrestling fans witnessed the antics of EXW superstar Mike Da’Lite in the ring. That night, Da’Lite beat Johnny Manson in the opening contest & then went on to lose in the main event against Tyson Tyler as Tyler’s mystery opponent per CEO FTW. A lot has changed since then. Castelucci’s partner/cousin, Woodro Santenelli, is out with a severe injury, the EXW Xtasy Dancers have been fired, & EXW is ready to crown their first ever EXW Heavyweight Champion almost a month & a ½ later And Da’Lite not only plans on being in attendance to witness the crowning of the first ever champion, but he plans on being involved in September 10th’s line up somehow…whether it be a singles match, to accept Frenchy Rivera’s challenge for the Open Challenge Falls Count Anywhere Match, or to once again face Castelucci in his Gauntlet Match, only CEO FTW currently knows the answer to that.
Being a fan of professional wrestling since the age of 5, Da’Lite has currently been active in the sport since April, 2009. And in such a short period of time, he has already won over the Las Vegas fans by being a former Vegas Championship Wrestling Light Heavyweight Champion, a feet that he is very proud of in his short career & even took it upon himself to follow the road of fellow Cruiserweight Lance Storm. Storm, being known as the man who won the World Championship Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion & renamed it the 100 kg & Under Championship, Da’Lite renamed his championship The VCW "Da-lite" Heavyweight Championship.
Since Da’Lite’s absence from EXW, many have tried to fill that void left by Da’Lite…including Bryce Slaven & Crash Test Cody, 1 in particular having a history with Da-Lite & a current hatred for the man. The battle between the 2 having started up in Vegas, where Da’Lite has been honing his craft with the Future Stars of Wrestling since his departure. Granted Da’Lite has been a busy man in Vegas, but why has he been missing from the EXW scene in Arizona? “I have been wrestling for FSW here in Las Vegas and battling a recent new comer to EXW, Darko (Cody from here on out) for the FSW Rookie of the Year. So my focus has been training, working out, and getting better at what I do,” is what Da’Lite had to say in his absence.
Da’Lite has shown he does not care for the men attempting to replace him, as his spot on the roster is already assured with several wins under his belt. So what are his thoughts of the 2 men trying to replace him? “Key word is trying, my friend. You are getting talent that is, quite frankly, not up to par to the Godfather of Da-lite. Slaven & Darko are a mere fraction of what I bring to the table. I mean, you are talking about replacing me with 2 out of shape, poorly trained jobbers and you think they are gonna replace a finely tuned athletic like me??? I don't think so and this Friday I’m a prove it!”
And, as noted, Da’Lite would love to get Cody in the EXW ring, let alone the FSW ring, to extract revenge on him. But what started the feud between the 2 men? Former tag team partners turning on 1 another? Injury? Jealousy? Or just an utter lie told by 1 person about the other? Da’Lite has his own reasons as to why he can’t stand Cody, “Crash Test Cody had a 20 vote lead with 4 hours left (in a the FSW Rookie of the Year voting). In those 4 hours, he jumped up to an over 100 hundred vote lead, kinda fishey..right? I thought so too. So when I got to the arena that day, I found out he had asked Mr. DeFalco if he could come out and say thank you to all the fans who voted for him on the FSW POLL, key word Poll. No official announcement has been made. He took it upon himself to buy a trophy and present it to himself. So I was back there and had to come out and show the people just what I thought of CTC's fake ceremony. So now I am trying to inform the fans that they were being lied to by CTC and that he was not the official Rookie of the Year. Yet so many people still believe it, yet no word has been made by the Brass at FSW. Also, how can a 2010 rookie of the year be named when we still have Sept, Oct, Nov, & Dec.? Just like 2010, I ain't done. And when the smoke clears, it will be me who is named FSW Rookie of the Year!!”
This leads to the big question though…just why has Da’Lite been missing from the EXW ring since July 25th, 2010? It isn’t because management was holding him back, not by a long shot. Da’Lite blames the Arizona fans for why he hasn’t been back in EXW for almost 2 months, “With the Sunday shows no longer happening I am unable to come down for the Tuesday night shows. Maybe if the cheap asses from AZ would actually pay to watch wrestling, they would get a little bit more da-lite in their life.”
And on September 10th, 2010 at the Day the Earth Stood Still at the Marquee Theatre, Da’Lite is planning on making his return to the EXW ring after his fan imposed month & a ½ hiatus. Is Da’Lite ready to see the fans & expect open arms from them with a “Welcome Back” chant? “I honestly don't care! Where were the fans the first 28 years of my life? Now all of a sudden, I put on a pair of tights and they act like I owe them something. I am not here for them I am here for myself!”
And Da’Lite does not fear who is in the ring with him. Judging by Da’Lite’s words, he does not intend on accepting the Frenchy Rivera Open Challenge for a Falls Count Anywhere Match, so that does leave 2 options for him: a Gauntlet Match participant to take out Ryan Castelucci or a singles match. How does Da’Lite feel about these options though, “It really doesn't matter who they put me in there with, cause no matter what, it won't be da-liteful. No! Scratch that, there is only one person right now I want to get my hands on, & if he does show up, Cody is gonna be in for a world of hurt!”
And speaking of the Day the Earth Stood Still, Da’Lite has his eyes on the EXW Heavyweight Championship Match between Tyson Tyler & Derrick Neikirk. Every EXW superstar has their eye on the prize & are curious as to who will win the match so they can face that person down the road, but Da’Lite makes it perfectly clear as to whom he thinks will win the match, “I got to say Neikirk is a beast and is gonna destroy Tyler. I wrestled Tyler. I’m not afraid of Tyler...but I am afraid of Neikirk“
.As stated before, EXW has gone through some changes since Da’Lite’s absence. And Da’Lite was very vocal of the changes, stating, “I love it! He (FTW) is throwing away the trash that is not needed here in EXW!!! If no one else in EXW has the balls to, I’m glad he does!”
Does this mean Da’Lite is a fan of FTW & his recent firings of the Xtasy Dancers? “The man is doing what he needs to do. Only thing he should consider is giving the people more of what they want...ME!!”
FTW is a man not afraid to bring new talent to EXW, that’s without a doubt. And FTW is always traveling with his wrestlers to other shows to scout out talent, such as Da’Lite. “I wrestled on a show with GQ Gallo, Tyson, & Neikirk, and lets face it when you see talent that is both young and gifted, you just have to have it on your show. When I got the offer, there was no way I was turning down an opportunity to work for these guys!” is what Da’Lite had to say about his chances in EXW.
And when FTW brought Da’Lite into EXW for his first match on May 14th, 2010 at Hostile Takeover where he & Cutler Wright, then known as Kid Vegas, came up short to “The Iron Lion” Tony Leo. Obviously, Leo did not stand out as he isn’t on the roster, but FTW saw something in Da’Lite, “Lets see, I am now officially on the roster, so things can't be that bad.”
And Da’Lite speaks the truth, as things are definitely not bad for him at all. Being a former VCW Da’Lite Heavyweight Champion in his short career & part of the hottest & fastest growing organization in Arizona, Da’Lite is a man on a mission. And Da’Lite is ready to come back to the ring of Elite Xtreme Wrestling & show the fans why his missile dropkick sets his opponents up perfectly for Da-Lite’s Out & leaves them lying in the ring with a 1-2-3 loss. And Mike Da’Lite’s future definitely sees his name up with some of the greatest cruiserweights in history from Lance Storm to Chris Candido to Little Guido in the extreme world of EXW!
