September 10th, the Day the World Stood Still is drawing closer for Elite Xtreme Wrestling & all involved are preparing for it in their own special ways. 1 way that is the key essential is, of course, Xtreme Tuesdays at Toby Keith’s I Love This Beer. And August 17th, 2009 was no exception to the preparations. EXW CEO F.T.W. continues to make changes to the face of EXW as he sees fit, trying to make it better for the fan base & bring more in. And 1 change he announced Tuesday night is that on September 10th, EXW will crown at the Marquee Theatre the first EXW Heavyweight Champion in a match up that will pit former friends, now bitter rivals, Tyson Tyler & Derrick Neikirk in the match Tyler has been waiting months for. And as stated, there will be more at stake besides revenge…there will be the first EXW Champion!
In another major turn events that started the show prior with the firing of Ivy DeVine, F.T.W. announced that the Xtasy Dancers were no more, as all the ladies were fired from EXW. F.T.W. is looking to make EXW more wrestling orientated for the fans. And in another consequence from the previous Xtreme Tuesday, Ryan Castelucci of the Atlantic City All-Stars was given the night off to think about what he & Woodro Santenelli did to back up ring announcer Sal Erakat, thus leaving Santenelli alone in the opening contest against Andrew Hellman. The downfall of this is that Hellman was not alone, as he was infuriated with the fact that last time he lost to the All-Stars, Santenelli was in the corner. So Hellman brought EXW newcomer Shawn Ricker to watch his back. Little did Hellman know at the time, he wouldn’t need Ricker since Castelucci had the night off. Hellman managed to gain the upper hand with a reverse chin lock in attempting to get Santenelli to tap. This was unsuccessful, so Hellman managed to distract the referee as Ricker hit Santenelli on the ring apron with an elbow to the throat. Santenelli managed to get the upper hand with Hellman in the corner, but Hellman brought in a surprise dropkick to send Santenelli down to the mat. Thankfully, this was not the end for Santenelli as he did manage a comeback. Santenelli through Hellman into the ropes & connected with a flying shoulder block & followed it up with a running bulldog, into an elbow drop. Santenelli eventually had Hellman up for his patented running power slam, but Hellman reversed it. As Santenelli was in the ropes, Ricker reached under, tripping up Santenelli. This caused Hellman to gain an upper hand & a pin fall for the victory, giving Santenelli his second loss in a row.
Next up on the EXW agenda was the return of 2 brand new EXW superstars. Bryce Slaven returned to EXW in an attempt to gain his first victory against EXW’s original Wrestlecrap, Crash Test Cody. Cody was out for a victory, as well, & wanted to prove to the fans that he could last more then 30 seconds in the ring. Both men locked up in the center of the ring with Cody getting the advantage using a headlock. Eventually, Slaven was able to counter out & sent Cody to the mat, where Slaven connected with a fist drop off the second rope & a leg drop, as well. After about 5 minutes of back & forth action, F.T.W. was out once again, claiming that he was not impressed by either man in the match. So F.T.W. brought out Johnny Manson & turned the match into a Triple Threat match to the delight of the crowd. Manson got the upper hand, being the fresh man in the ring, & sent both opponents down with a clothesline. Manson took an even stronger advantage by attempting something he has never done…a double Bouncy on the ropes to both men. The crowd was truly behind Manson, as a chant of “All You Can Eat” broke out for the hungry superstar. Manson followed things up with a swinging neck breaker to Cody in the center of the ring & nailed Cody with a knee drop. Cody was eventually introduced to the corner & hit with a Lunchtime attack, that Slaven followed up with a clothesline to Manson. This did anger Manson, who managed to get Slaven in the corner & nailed him with a Lunchtime attack, as well. As the action continued in the ring, Slaven showed he was not the man to be messed with as he power slammed Manson right on top of Cody in the center of the ring. All 3 men eventually managed to get to their feet prior to a 10-count, as the fists of rage were flying by all 3. In paying channeling the spirit of Kerry Von Erich, Cody nailed Slaven with a Discus Punch, but it was no luck for Cody. Manson eventually nailed a combination DDT/reverse neck breaker onto both men for the pin fall victory. Manson then celebrated his win by showing respect to Cody, who stated in the article “Crashing Into EXW” that he wished he could work with Manson, by raising his hand…following up with a bite for dinner.
And after dinner, the cards were ready to be served on the table as Cutler Wright was out next. Relieving ring announcer Johnny Roxx of the microphone, Mr. Open Contract was ready to issue another challenge to the locker room . Wright felt he “can’t find another real wrestler in the place, “ adding “I am what elite wrestling is all about!” This brought out an EXW newcomer in the name of Shawn Ricker to the ringside area, ready for his EXW christening. Both men started things off by locking up in the corner, where Wright got the better of Ricker with a slap to the face to show him who’s boss. Both men then exchanged double chops in the corner, where Wright is thrown into the opposite corner. Wright escapes the ring, dragging Ricker outside with him, & introducing Ricker’s back to the ring apron. This leads to anger by Ricker, who eventually sends Wright into the ropes & sending him to new heights with a press slam in the center of the ring. A hip toss & arm bar later, Ricker attempts a tap out by Wright to no avail. Wright shows his dirty Vegas ways by raking the eyes of Ricker & following up with a suplex. Wright throws Ricker into the ropes, but Ricker dodges a clothesline attempt, showing Wright how to connect with a dropkick. An elbow drop off the second rope gets Wright rolling around the ring in agony, as Ricker enjoys his advantage. Wright eventually mounts a comeback, setting the newcomer up for his first loss via the Jackpot, but Ricker does what nobody else has managed to do…escape the Jackpot & shows Wright a suplex of his own. Wright gets his strength up & connects with a double hook DDT as the referee makes the count & Johnny Roxx announces Wright the winner. Only problem here though is the referee declares afterwards that Ricker’s arm was up, but before anything could come of it…Woodro Santenelli charges the ring to gain revenge on Ricker for his loss earlier on. But not having Ryan Castelucci by his side would prove a disadvantage as Andrew Hellman comes to Ricker’s aid. As both men double team Santenelli, Wright makes a hasty exit, declaring himself the winner after all. A double vertical suplex and a double belly to back suplex later, Santenelli is laid out in the center of the ring, Hellman & Ricker celebrate their alliance & the birth of a new tag team, & Castelucci sits at home, unaware of what just transpired to his cousin thanks to F.T.W.’s punishment to Castelucci.
After Santenelli was helped to the back by EXW attendants, it was now time for the 6 Man Tag Main Event. The Freak Squad were out first, in which Frenchy Rivera was unhappy of how Johnny Roxx handled the introduction. Rivera showed Roxx how it should be done, then it was Dom Vitalli’s turn on the microphone. Vitalli informed the crowd that in his & Gabriel Gallo’s Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match at The Day the World Stood Still on September 10th, he will crown himself the NEW King of No Rules. Rivera was then back on the mic, where he announced he had no opponent for September the 10th. So Rivera decided to address the locker room, issuing an open challenge to anybody who wished to step up to the bat & face him in a match. Then the Freak Squad announced they were taking applications via their Facebook for a 3rd & maybe a 4th member to join their ranks, if anybody were interested.
Out next for the main event was Derrick Neikirk, who had nothing to say as he likes to let his actions in the ring do the talking. Gabriel Gallo, Tyson Tyler, & Sean “Val Venis” Morley were out next, as the place erupted for them. Gallo took 2 signs from the fans at ringside that showed the fans love for EXW & held them up high as the crowd chanted, “EXW.” Morley then got on the microphone, where he told Neikirk that Neikirk “couldn’t handle facing me one on one.” Morley was angry over all the recent cheap shots Neikirk has taken against him, kicking him in his lower extremities. “You’re gonna find out first hand what the meaning of blue balls really is, “ stated Morley before he gave up the microphone. After some convincing from Gallo, Morley, & Tyler, Neikirk & the Freaks eventually got in the ring after several minutes of stalling outside. The team of Gallo, Morley, & Tyler charged at the Freaks & Neikirk, but Neikirk took the high road & bailed out as his teammate took a beating from the 3. The match was finally underway, as Gallo & Vitalli started off with a kick to the back of Vitalli & a boot to the face, as well. The action was crazy in the ring, as all 6 men were making tags in attempts to keep a fresh man in the ring. Morley was out for revenge on Vitalli for the pin fall loss at the last show & showed Vitalli the receiving end of a swinging neck breaker. And who could forget the vertical suplex Morley also nailed Vitalli with, as we’re pretty sure Vitalli can’t forget being on the receiving end of that! Soon it was Rivera in the ring with the man who broke his arm, one Gabriel Gallo. Rivera was out for revenge again, as he had Gallo in the corner & connected with a chop, followed by a rake to the eyes. Gallo was able to get the upper hand by hitting a dropkick in the center of the ring before tagging Tyler in. Tyler didn’t fare so well at first, as Rivera sent him into the taste of Vitalli’s boot in the corner. Neikirk was in the ring next with his one-time friend & tag team partner, giving him a sneak preview of their match on September 10th with repeated knee shots to the face.
Rivera managed to get back in the ring & showed Tyler that he has the hardest head butt this side of Harley Race by nailing a head butt to the back of Tyler’s head in Rivera’s corner as his teammates watched. The attack didn’t end there, as Tyler was thrown into the ropes by Vitalli, who showed Tyler his version of the flying shoulder block. Tyler was able to get an upper hand & reach his corner, as Morley was tagged into the ring & Vitalli was sent into him, where a Dominator took Vitalli out. Rivera showed Gallo that his broken arm was heeling nicely though, as not 1, but 2 short armed clotheslines sent Gallo down on the mat. Neikirk made his way back into the ring as the action heated up, sending a thumb to the eye of Morley & a knee drop to a prone Gallo. As all 6 men were brawling in this point, Gallo grabbed hold of Vitalli & climbs the ropes, connecting with a slice bread #2, in which Gallo angled his body just right to take out Neikirk with a splash. A double clothesline in the center of the ring takes out Morley, as Neikirk goes for a cover but the referee refuses to count since Morley is not the legal man As all this is going on, Vitalli launches himself over the top rope & down onto Gallo at the ringside area. Morley gets back to his feet, only to once again feel the taste of Neikirk’s boot to his lower extremities, in which Tyler, the legal man, takes advantage of the distraction & rolls up Neikirk & the referee makes the 3-count…declaring the team of Morley, Gallo, & Tyler the winner in the main event.
But it’s apparent that things are not over for these 6 men…not by a long shot! Dom Vitalli & Gabriel Gallo still have the Marquee Theatre to look forward to. Gallo has a history of not being afraid to put his body on the line & has even competed before in a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match..so Gallo knows what he’s got himself into. Vitalli, on the other hand, has only been in a Tables Match. There may not be a title at stake, but there is something far more important at stake…PRIDE!
And Tyson Tyler has been calling out Derrick Neikirk every chance he gets. But Neikirk has had his hands full with Sean Morley. Now Tyler will FINALLY get his hands on Neikirk. Not in a tag team match. Not in a 6 man tag team match. And not in a Fatal Fourway match. Tyler will get his hands on Neikirk in a one on one match for the Elite Xtreme Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Match. And Tyler already holds over Neikirk’s head something that Neikirk doesn’t have…a pin fall victory. What kind of frame of mind does that put Derrick Neikirk in now?
And yes, for those wondering….Sean Morley will INDEED be in attendance. Granted, Morley will be watching the Neikirk/Tyler match very closely…but Morley will also have his hands full. For F.T.W. has announced the return of the Innovator of Violence, former ECW World Champion Tommy Dreamer! And dreamer will be facing his former WWE co-worker Sean Morley in the center of the EXW Ring! Will this be a match of respect between 2 friends? Or will Tommy Dreamer take things to THE EXTREME….a place Sean Morley has never been before?
Plus, what about Frenchy Rivera’s challenge? Given his history of men he has angered & met in the ring, who will be at the Marquee Theatre to answer his challenge? Someone from the back? Someone from the crowd? Some new member of the EXW roster yet unknown since F.T.W. is always looking for new talent?
September 10th, 2010 holds the answers to all these questions. The Day the World Stood Still is shaping up to change the face of EXW forever…but how so? Tickets are available now via www.luckymanonline.com or at the Marquee Theatre Box Office. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. And in the meantime, make sure you attend the very next Xtreme Tuesday, as some questions may just be answered there and as history has shown, you just NEVER know who will pop up unadvertised!
