As the old adage goes, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” right? Wrong! That is so not the case when it comes to Elite Xtreme Wrestling superstar, Cutler Wright. Having been a part of EXW for a few months now, Wright started out by going with the name Kid Vegas, a name that originated back in 2005 when he wrestled for the Bodyslam Wrestling Organization in New Jersey under the tutelage of former WWE & ECW superstar Nunzio. “Special thanks to Nunzio for thinking I was crazy for traveling from Las Vegas, but this also made him realize my dedication,” is what Wright had to say about his former mentor.
Then on July 11th, 2010, Wright decided to make his real intentions known to the EXW fans by changing his ways, as well as adapting his real persona into his in-ring abilities. “Everyone knows I REALLY am The Vegas Kid, Sin city's only son. But being Mr. Wright shows everyone that I am in the Wright place Wright Time. There’s nothing wrong with being every fans MR WRIGHT!”
Why the sudden change in attitude for the man who for months was enjoying the cheers of the fans? Did he do it to get even with somebody? No, that’s far from the case at all. Wright didn’t care about the cheers. Nor did he care about who he faced. Yet, since his change of attitude on July 11th, Wright has defeated EXW newcomer Johnny Manson, scored the pin fall while teaming up with Tyson Tyler in a tag team match against Derrick Neikirk & Gabriel Gallo thrown together by Commissioner F.T.W., & then a rematch against Gallo the following week. Which leads one to wonder just why Wright turned against the fans who cheered him for so long? And has the new attitude lead to his recent undefeated streak? “What kind of a question is that.? Are you kidding me? The reason I have not been defeated as of late is because I spent the first few months in EXW studying. I sat back and watched and now I have everyone’s number. I know how every competitor will play every hand and what bet he is leading in with. I now always have the odds in my favor. If I’m in the ring you’re guaranteed to see a fight.”
So how does Wright feel about his fans since his change of heart compared to the fans of his hometown? “Las Vegas Fans are the superior by far. As of late I have got more wins and less and less respect by the EXW fans. But that’s fine with me, you don’t have to like me but understand those wrestlers you do like are only on their way to defeat at the hands of MR. Wright!” “I could entertain the fans better just going out there and throwin some cards around then having a match when any of the "talent" Elite Xtreme Wrestling has to offer. When I first asked for real competition in EXW my match was over in less than five minutes. Next time I get another "Johnny Manson" Caliber opponent I’m gonna bring in a five year old fan that could beat him. Hell maybe then Manson might have an Ice Cubes Chance in Hell at a victory!”
Wright’s half a decade career has appeared to taken him places, having wrestled for Future Stars of Wrestling in Las Vegas, NV, American Xtreme Wrestling in Salt Lake City, UT, SW Wrestling in New Mexico, Vegas Championship Wrestling, as well as his early roots in BWO…where he was a tag team champion with partner Nick Saint. But Wright’s journey has taken him to EXW for 2 reasons. “The EXW fans are true wrestling fans, but I’m not there for them. I’m there for competition and when I saw guys of the Caliber of Neikirk, Dreamer, Venis, and Gallo I knew that I was gonna need to pull out the street smarts and I cant rely on fan support for wins. If the EXW fans don’t like my words and actions as of late then they're really not gonna like it as I continue to run right through all the top contenders in EXW until there is Gold around my waist.”
But EXW & Wright were not brought together just by fate. They were brought together by a man with a vision. A man with the sense of knowledge to know just what he was doing with his wrestling company. And that man was none other then F.T.W. But what exactly brought these two minds together for the future of EXW? “Lets just say when I met FTW he was on a vacation in Sin City, and he called me cause he knew I could point him in the right direction for a good time in the 24 town. I made sure he left Vegas with a girl on each arm, money in his pocket, and a hangover cure for the morning. He hasn’t steered MR WRIGHT into the wrong direction. As long as he keeps his chips in the game, we won’t have any problems.”
So could this be another superstar that F.T.W. will be doing favors for? That doesn’t really seem the case with Wright, because each opponent Wright has faced since his attitude change have all been via in-ring challenge. Wright is not afraid to get in the ring, grab the microphone, & open a challenge to anybody in the EXW locker room. The man is virtually a Walking Open Contract. “Like I have said I will take on any and all competitors. I have been in the ring with former ECW, TNA, WCW, and WWE stars. No one can intimidate me and I am always ready for the fight of my life. So if This Kid from Vegas is in the ring, I make the odds in my favor place my bets and play whatever hand is dealt to me. But I will always come out on top...BET ON IT!!”
So now Wright is ready to once again step in the ring of EXW, issue another open challenge to anybody in the back, & you just never know who will fall victim to the Jackpot. It could be Ryan Castelucci, Mike Da-Lite, or even Derrick Neikirk…Wright is not afraid of anybody in his future. And with training from the likes of Nunzio, can you really blame him for not being afraid?
Hence, Elite Xtreme Wrestling had better watch out for themselves…cause Wright is ready to cash in & bring EXW Gold home to the Sin City.
