First off, special thanks to Will Nolte for filling in the last couple of write ups thanks to the injuries I sustained courtesy of the Freak Squad. Not only did I wind up missing both shows in their entirety, but I spent an entire night in Desert Samaritian with a concussion & broken ribs. But I have been guaranteed by the new owner of EXW, Shieky, that this type of action will not happen ever again. Dom Vitalli is being forced to pay all my medical bills & if any EXW wrestler lays their hands on a fan, they will be fired.
Now onto the matter on hand, this was definetly a solid show developing the next big show, Up For Grabs. Granted, this show was a little over an hour long, shorter then usual, but the whole purpose was the tag team tournament. And these are my thoughts & my thoughts alone...as a reviewer, I am going to put differences aside & tell it like I see it. And if anybody has a problem with it, well...feel free to dispute it with me & share your thoughts with valid points!
Highs:
Sheiky as a new owner is excellent work! He cut a great promo to start the show & set things straight as the new owner.
Mike James using the Dragon Sleeper...looked damn good Mike!
Dom Vitalli's Hurricanarama off the top rope...yes, I hate the guy for what he did, but I am not going to deny a move of beauty when I see it!
4 matches for Round 1...a good number, not causing the tournament to drag out.
Terra Callaway's bump off the apron...that looked like it hurt, but she made it look good!
Speaking of Terra...LOVE the new jeans!
Freak Squad versus Andrew Hellman/Cutler Wright...Match of the Night!
Sal & Ray Basura versus Johnny Manson & his mask...the mask idea sounded like a joke gimmick, BUT the mask played no part in the match & Manson looked solid out there, to make it the second match of the night.
Ray Basura made it quite easy for us to turn anything he said into a chant. Thanks Ray!
Sal's little temper tantrum when the chant of "Sal's a baby"...classic playing off the crowd Sal!
Double Lunchtime Cannonball onto Basura & Sal...nicely done!
Mike James FINALLY gets a win in EXW.
Mosh Pit Mike gets his second main event match.
Mosh Pit Mike came over to ask how I was doing before his match.
Atlantic City All Star reunion....think you boys may need a manager?
Adan Reyes gets Kyle Hawk into a DDT, who reverses it into a neckbreaker...beautiful!

The way Mosh Pit Mike & Mike James got their win...a dq ending/attack by Neikirk & Venis looked extremely weak!

Adan Reyes versus Kyle Hawk had a number of botches in it.
Why do we need 2 ring announcers? Can't we just go with 1 instead of musical ring announcers? Nothing against either guy, as they're both good people...but why 2 ring announcers? And why not a ring announcer who gets the names right (Who's Miracle James?) or has been around EXW for a long time?
Looks like Cutler Wright is going face. Yes, I will give it time to see how it goes, but at this point in time I am not crazy about it.
I want to see more women so Terra Callaway can actually wrestle! We've seen her work in the past & she was great in the ring. She desn't need to be a cheerleader...her talent is being wasted that way!
The audience doesn't know except for word of mouth via here or Facebook about Dom Vitalli's punishment for his attack on me. Do we act like this horrible act didn't happen?
Tag team torunament felt to much like the old WCW lethal Lottery: throw tag teams together.
Round 2 is announced as Freak Squad versus Derrick Neikirk & Val Venis...really? Shouldn't that be the main event for Up For Grabs? Sheik probally should have gone a different route, especially if you look at the match order from tonight would mean Freak Squad should take on Johnny Manson & his mask, with Val Venis & Derrick Neikirk versus Mike James & Mosh Pit Mike. That could also cause James & Mosh Pit to get revenge on the attack from Neikirk & Venis.
Sal didn't die...but I think we got a new chant anyways.
I love Ryan Castelucci, but he saves Cutler Wright & not me?!?!? WTF!
Justin Beiber Las Vagas storms off in anger from the commentators table. Are you getting angry & pulling a Justin Roberts on us, son?
You announce them as Lawrence & Tyson Tyler...they're STILL the Tyler Empire to me! The other variation, sure it's who they are but it just sounds horrible.
I get a low for ruining the Manson chant...sorry.

Overall though, this was a good start to the tag team tourament. Looking forward to the see how things continue on for this new championship. Don't know about you, but I do plan on heading on up to Payson to witness the crowning of another new championship!
