Highs & Lows of 1/4/10 for EXW Xtreme Tuesday

For starters, I passed up Smackdown for this...and after sitting through another 15 minute Freak Squad promo, I would rather have driven by myself for 90 minutes to Tucson to see a Last Man Standing Match then the Freak Squad waste more of my time. At least in a 90 minute drive, if I hear something I don't like, I can turn it off. But other then the Freak Squad's promo, this was a pretty good send off to help establish Bad Intentions on January 15th, 2010 in Prescott, AZ. And it actually makes me want to make the drive to be there. So what better way to begin the Highs & Lows then by announcing the matches as as the highs!

Highs:
Tyson Tyler versus Bill DeMott was announced for Bad Intentions. This will definetly be a good match, as both men have a similar style!
Val Venis versus Derrick Neikirk No Holds Barred, 1 Last Time. Both men have given it their all for this feud, with Venis promo at the last show being his best! This will be a strong match!
Gabriel Gallo versus Frenchy Rivera...I Quit, Loser Leaves EXW. Good! At least when Gallo cuts a promo, he keeps them short & to the point.
All 3 matches announced tonight on top of the previous announced matches make for a strong card in Prescott.
Johnny Manson's new t-shirt...I love it & as soon as I can get the money, I WILL buy one!
"Sal's gonna die!" If this gimmick continues, it's just that damn good of a chant!
Ray Bassura's double suplex on Manson & Hawk...that was beautiful.
Moshpit Mike gets a main event match against Neikirk...very strong showing for Mike that way & shows EXW has faith in him!
Tyson Tyler/Mike James...strong fan favorite match that had Tyler win with a different finisher then usual.
Triple Threat was a strong way to open the show & the right man went over.
Special kudos to Sal...as he not only gets a high, but he gets the Ultimate High! He may have been sent out there to be destroyed by Val Venis but that had to have been the biggest moment of his short wrestling career EVER!! And Sal made the beating he took look damn good & even the fans wince for his pain! Excellent work Sal!
Once again, Monster Mayhem joined me to observe for FTW. Love it when he watches the show with me!
They announced a tag team tournament starting up here shortly for belts...and as long as somebody other then the Freak Squad win it, I can't wait for the division to build!
Shane Stratmore & Ryan Castelucci looked good as a team in the 6 man tag!
Gallo's words to Frenchy after he shut him up with the steel chair...he had plenty of anger behind him & a good build up for the match & wanting revenge from December 7th.

Lows:
Dom's Simply the Best video. Come on already! We had a 15 minute promo...do we really need a damn video for his hard on regarding himself? I love Fresh Off the Mat, but they created a damn monster.
Hey Frenchy...the Twinkie incident was a month ago & the kid appologized. Just like the rest of the fans & wrestlers in attendance, LET IT GO! You got your revenge on him & made him cry...you don't need to embarase the kid more!
No Borracho...he said he would show then the poor guy had to cancel cause he tapped out to the flu!
Mike James/Tyson Tyler falls into lows cause the damn crowd was dead!
Sean O'Brien...newcomer to EXW, so why the hell is he in the main event? We're clueless on him!
Andrew Hellman gets attacked by Cutler Wright, yet Rexx Reed wins by dq? Really?
What the hell was up with the sound all night? Ryan Castelucci's music sounded like somebody was gargling during it. And we couldn't even hear the video promos to open the show. But then again, I did see Kay in the audience & he always screwed the music up for IZW. Did EXW hire him now?
All right Dom...we get it! You're Wrestler of the Year on Fresh Off the Mat...but you're not EXW's official Wrestler of the Year. Damn ego trip! And hey, I voted for Ryan! And the sexual innuendos...come on dude, there's kids at the show!
Manimal not only didn't fistpump as we yelled for, he admitted to not having a clue as to what it meant!

Terra Callaway is stuck with the Freak Squad instead of wrestling? Man, we need more female wrestlers!
If Hellman can't wear the belt right, take it off him!
Rexx Reed versus Andrew Hellman seemed way out of place on the show.
Where's Prophet? If he's working RELLIK as 1 of the hyped matches, shouldn't we have one of them there for some kind of build up?
Somebody teach FTW how to cut a promo! He still sucks!
Manimal looked out of place in the 6 man tag!
Ryan looked hurting out there, so it was an off night for him!
Crowd was dead & had no clue who Bill DeMott was when he was announced against Tyler.

But overall, this was a good show to help build up the big show on the 15th! If there wasn't a big show coming up, this would have been an off night...but it was definetly about building up to the 15th!

Although, there is also a show on the 13th at Fulton Elementary School Chandler...I know the Prescott show is a huge deal, but the Fulton show is an annual show for fundraiser for Fulton (first for EXW though), so advertising it would have been a good idea since quite a few of the loyal fans showed up to the last school fundraiser!

But I for one can not wait until the 15th, as these matches are shaping up a hell of a lot better then the last big show at the Marquee Theatre!

Sorry about not making it out, had to work another closing shift. We're short a person at work since the new girl decided she was taking almost a month long vacation which stuck me with 40-50 hour weeks the last few weeks. She won't be back til mid next week. The good news is, they scheduled her to work Saturday the 15th, so I'm going to Bad Intentions.

Speaking of which contact me here or on facebook anyone who is going and wants to carpool. Let's all save some money in this bad economy.

One question, what the hell is going on with Castellucci/Hellman/Wright? I thought Ryan and Cutler had a "disagreement" with each other last show and we know Andrew and Ryan have been at each others' throats for a while. The Cutler/Andrew angle doesn't add up.

Cutler was the #1 Contender to the Elite Championship after Hellman won the belt...so he wants his shot at the belt.

And Ryan never officially finished with Hellman, but Cutler stuck his nose in where it don't belong!

Yes...Dom was voted by the fans via Fresh Off the Mat, a website that does really good reviews of the show. www.freshoffthemat Kelly Floyd does brilliant work!

Hey Will. I just blessed your forum with my presence and have officially now made it cool to read around in here. Now if I may, a few points:

1. Yes, I was voted Wrestler of the Year by marks of Fresh off the Mat. Yes, it has gone to my head. Thank you to all the marks (such as the ones reading this) that voted for me. Don't get it twisted however, as AZ marks are the cheapest, whiniest, bitchiest, in the nation and I hate you all.

I read the Kelly Lynch article. Especially loved the dramatic finisher "after all, actions speak louder than words." BWAH HA HA!!! (Three exclamation points!!!) The guy with the 15 minute, rambling, driving people to drink/sleep/stay away in droves promos week and week? Followed by a few minute match where he buries someone (along with a Frenchy assist, since that is sooo needed)?

As far as man-crushes go, I try not to go the gay jokes route. When people do, I figure they have nothing remotely creative to say (and take a ton of time to say it)
