Welcome to another Arizona Local Wrestling Forum Exclusive. The only way to read my TRUE thoughts of the Elite Xtreme Wrestling shows is to visit this forum, as anywhere else I write about EXW will not be my thoughts but more of the traditional recaps. Mind you, I enjoy typing the recaps but this brings me back to my roots of local wrestling.
For those of you whom are new to this, the High's & Low's started back in the days of Impact Zone Wrestling as a segment of the IZW Forum by former IZW Wrestler The Crock. After Crock would type up his thoughts of the show after he retired, I would add my thoughts, as well. Then the Crock stopped posting one day, unknown to anybody. I took it upon myself to continue in his tradition while the IZW forums were around.
After the IZW forums vanished, I stopped doing them. And I was actually questioned by members of the IZW locker room of why & was told they wanted it back. So I brought it back via myspace. Then IZW unfortunatly went under, so I stopped doing the segment.
Months after EXW started, some members of the roster actually approached me, asking why it stopped & wanted me to post them regarding EXW. I thought about it for quite some time, but I didn't feel right at first. EXW was a fresh new start, so they didn't need me to rehash something old.
Then I saw how this forum was doing & decided to help bring some life to it. And 1 way of life you already saw, which was the IZW: Where Are They Now? series I am currently doing, which turned out to get the most hits of any posts for these forums. So I decided to bring some life to the EXW portion & bring back the High's & Low's in honor of EXW.
First off, nothing is meant to be disrespectful in the least bit...but it is meant to be honest! As a fan of 25 years, I know what I like & I know what I don't like. When it comes to professional wrestling, my dedication & attention goes to independent wrestling before the stuff we see on Raw, Smackdown, & TNA because the indy wrestlers have more heart & determination to do what they do. You are allowed to disagree with me on my views & I invite you to do so! Afterall, this is a forum. There is no cost to join, so feel free to register if you haven't done so! Even those of you who watch on the webshow based over at www.elitextremewrestling.com are free to chime in.
So now that you have read the background, here we go with the
Highs:
Ryan Castelucci asking for a moment of silence to honor those who served in Pearl Harbor...classiest act of the night!
Cutler Wright catching Mike James as he went for the dropkick off the top rope...Wright made it look like a powerbomb attempt, but nailed it into a Jackpot for the win.
Johnny Roxx's mic skills & managerial skills...great to see a heel manager in EXW. There should always be 1 heel manager to work the crowd during a match.
Gabriel Gallo/Frenchy Rivera...not just Match of the Night, but a strong canidate for Match of the Year!
The return of Manimal...I always do enjoy that guy! It's like watching the Moondogs, only he can wrestle.
The return of Val Venis & giving the best damn promo in his career...even better then his stuff in WWF!
"Sal's gonna die!!" That chant just does not get old.
Sal's dancing gimmick is getting far more over & his songs are getting way better! He's doing a great job at selling it.
The huge brawl after the Tyson Tyler/Ryan Castelucci versus Derrick Neikirk/Dom Vitalli Match that pretty much involved all the key feuds going on.
Dom Vitalli has the best damn elbow drops this side of Randy "Macho Man" Savage
Roxx's introduction of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions...and those belts look so damn cheesy, that it's brilliant!!
Cutler Wright continues to be a Promo God!
Monster Mayhem joining myself & Will at our table, scouting out the show on behalf of FTW. How many of you can say you get to watch EXW with 1 of the main EXW staff members?!?!
Low's:
We couldn't hear the opening video so we had no clue what was going on with Ms. DeeDee & Ryan.
Shane Stratmore versus Johnny Manson seemed to lose everybody in attendance, as there really was no point to the match.
Manson seemed to be having an off night regarding his moves.
The Cat Fight between Candi & Yolie...these girls need far more training to make it believable. Kind of hard to take it serious when they're laughing!
Ryan Castelucci/Cutler Wright? Where did that come from? It almost seemed pointless for Ryan to start a new fued build up when he's not done with Hellman.
No Moshpit Mike!
Lawrence Tyler didn't seem like he wanted to be there at all & not happy about being stuck with Sal.
Neikirk's turn on Vitalli during the tag match. Why? That turn could have turned Vitalli face, which would have screwed up the whole Freak Squad heel advantage.
As much as I enjoy Roxx as a manager, you got a strong mouthpiece of Johnny Roxx with 2 strong mouthpieces of the Freak Squad...something is going to get lost there.
NO MORE MEGAPHONES!! Anyone who uses a megaphone, little tip...YOU'RE NOT JIMMY HART! Leave his gimmick alone! That goes for you, too, Johnny!
The Massive Twinkie Incident...if you can't throw a simple Twinkie, don't throw it at all! And dont run away, crying, when you started in the first place! You got what you deserved!
Maybe it's time for the Twinkies to end since it wound up in the wrong hands.
Sound was way to loud & turned alot of folks away from the 2 video packages that were aired.
Love Mike James, but he seemed lost out there against Cutler Wright.
Stupid Toby Keith's pole!
The positioning of the table....85% the fans in attendance did not get to see Frenchy go through the table.
No Terra Calloway! WTF! She's was there. She made the trip from Vegas. She probally would have been WAY better in the Cat Fight segment then Candi.
And on that note, it is now time for you all to share your thoughts if you like. Agree. Disagree. Attempt your own High's & Low's.
